More Than Words – Part 2

Part 2- Water
(Psalm 1:1–3, 105:40–41) Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
(40) The people asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. 41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it ran in the dry places like a river.
(1 Corinthians 10:4)… and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
Satan tries to flood us.
(Revelation 12:9, 15) So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (15) So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.
(Psalm 69:1–2, 69:14–15, 93:3–4) Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. (69:14-15) Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. 15 Let not the floodwater overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth on me. (93:3-4) The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. 4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.
(Proverbs 6:2, 18:4, 18:21) You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth. (18:4) The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; the wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook. (18:21) Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
(Isaiah 59:19) So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Satan tries to famish us.
(Amos 8:11) “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
(Mark 4:14–15) The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
(Proverbs 6:2) You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth.
Jesus wants to fill us.
(1 Corinthians 2:13–14) These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(John 4:7–14) A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
(Ephesians 5:25–26) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
