COVID-19 Updates

Dear Vine Church Family,

We’re all aware of the constantly evolving situation with the COVID-19 virus. Due to a restriction on our normal facility beyond our control, this past weekend we began hosting our services in an online-only format, and the current plan is that we will continue this approach until April 5.

Last night, March 16, 2020, President Donald Trump issued updated recommendations for all Americans to help slow the spread of COVID-19. We understand that there are many opinions on what an appropriate level of response would be, but in the spirit of Romans 13, the Elders of Vine Church are choosing to honor the leadership of our nation. We are now recommending that any group activities be limited to 10 or fewer individuals, or be postponed until a more appropriate time.

For group leaders: Please use your discretion on hosting your small groups. If you have historically hosted groups over 10 people, consider dividing your group between yourself and your co-leaders. If possible, consider hosting your groups virtually. This can be done through video communication platforms such as, which can host up to 100 people for a 40-minute meeting, or even through a Facebook Live broadcast to a private Facebook group.

For group members: Please use your discretion even if your group leader is continuing with your group. Please be released from any expectations you think we might have on you to attend.

For all: Pray, and believe with us in faith that this virus must cease in Jesus’ name. At the same time, please use wisdom. If you, a family member, or someone else you have been close to is not feeling well, please refrain from hosting or attending a group event. Listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you and use good common sense. Remember 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” We should even be cautious of the information we share. Spreading false information does not promote the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

We are in an unprecedented time, and in this time, we encourage you to not think of the ways you aren’t able to come to church but think of the ways you can BE the church. Over the coming days, we will be providing additional opportunities and resources for you to be the hands and feet of Jesus here and now to the community around you.

In summary, until at least April 5:

  • Sunday services will be hosted in an online-only format, streamed on the church website ( and on Facebook
  • Small group meetings should be limited to 10 people or less
  • Small group leaders should use personal discretion on hosting groups of 10 or less
  • Small group members should use personal discretion on attending groups of 10 or less
  • Use wisdom: Wash your hands, cough into your elbow, don’t touch your face, keep your distance, stay home if you feel sick
