(Ephesians 6:18 GW) Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is.

The Prayer of the Sheep

(Psalm 23:1-6 NKJV) The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

You are my Shepherd.

Jehovah – Raah

(Psalm 23:1 NKJV) The LORD is my Shepherd…

(John 10:14) “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”

You are my Provider.

Jehovah – Jireh

(Psalm 23:1 NKJV) The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

(Philippians 4:19) And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

You are my Peace.

Jehovah – Shalom

(Psalm 23:2 NKJV) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

(John 14:27) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

You are my Healer.

Jehovah – Rapha

(Psalm 23:3 NKJV) He restores my soul.

(1 Peter 2:24-25 NLT) He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

You are my Righteousness.

Jehovah – Tsidkenu

(Psalm 23:3 NKJV) He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

(1 Peter 1:14-15) As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.

You are my Constant Companion.

Jehovah – Shammah

(Psalm 23:4 NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

(Hebrews 13:5-6) God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

You are my Defender.

Jehovah – Nissi

(Psalm 23:5 NKJV) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

(2 Thessalonians 3:3) But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

You are my Sanctifier.

Jehovah – M’Kaddesh

(Psalm 23:5 NKJV) You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

(1 Peter 2:9) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

God answers prayer based on who He is not on who we are.
