Interview With The Devil – Part 1
Pastor Louis Johnson, March 12, 2017
Understanding the enemy’s strategy
(II Corinthians 2:11) In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
We are not fighting for victory, but fighting from victory.
The enemy doesn’t want us to know who we are or whose we are.
(Isaiah 14:12-14) How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
The devil wants you to take Jesus off the throne and put you there every time you sin.
(John 10:10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Satan’s objectives are to steal, kill, and destroy.
THE ENEMY’S GOALS OF A LITTLE TLC
T = Temptation
L = Lies
(John 8:44) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him.
(Revelation 12:10) For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
HOW TO OVERCOME THE ENEMY
(Instead of temptation) Be tethered to the Word of God.
(Instead of lying) Be led by the Holy Spirit.
(Instead of condemnation) Understand the compassion, forgiveness and the grace of God.
