A Thrill of Hope, Part 4

Pastor Louis Johnson, December 25, 2016

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.  Isaiah 1:18

3 “You shall have no other gods before me.” 4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. 8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Exodus 20:3-4, 7-8

You don’t have to live in constant disappointment anymore.

You can be free from rituals and religions and trust in a relationship.

You can trust in a name that is above every name.

You can rest.

Your family does not have to fall apart.

You do not have to live in a constant state of anger because you will be motivated by love and not hate.

You do not have to live a life dominated by the guilt, pain and shame associated with sexual sin.

I will provide.

You do not have to pretend.

I will be enough.

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.13 “You shall not murder. 14 “You shall not commit adultery. 15 “You shall not steal. 16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:12-17
